Whether it’s the politician who picks truthiness over truth, a scientist who tweaks the data “just a little” because she’s sure her findings are meaningful, or an executive who keeps a pet project going despite growing evidence that it’s not likely to succeed, these are those little corrosions that happen so very softly and so completely.
