Trusting Google
Owen Ruggiero

I like this — but I really do want you to watch that one episode of Black Mirror and then consider your position on how and why corporations access data, particularly when you talk about the violation of the use of your data only causing you mild embarrassment. Also, what does it mean that Google (and Facebook, Microsoft, etc.) sell your data to third parties? Perhaps you feel secure with the way Google markets their data usage, but are you secure with all the parties to whom Google sells it? And considering this morning that there was an international breach of data from the NSA, what happens when your data is stolen from the hands you trust and is used maliciously? AND what does it mean for individuals whose assets exceed 8GB and are more sensitive than the emails exchanged between you and a professor? Give me your thoughts!
