Dear South Africa

I’m sorry I took so long to realise what you were going through. I’m sorry I stayed in my privileged bubble and ignored you as if you were an irritable child.

I’m sorry I didn’t see you for you are.

South Africa is strength.

It is beauty.

It is perseverance.

It is diversity.

It is power.

South Africa is worth fighting for and I’m so sorry that I keep choosing to retreat back to my ignorant cave.

South Africa, give me the strength and courage to fight for you and to love you the way you have for so many.

Thank you South Africa. I believe in you in all your rainbow coloured glory.

Anna
