Great essay. I purged almost all of my books a few years ago, some were from as far back as my college days and I really didn’t need them any more — I was a Philosophy major and I absolutely never read those books again, they just made me look smarter than I am. I thought I’d go digital — audio and Kindle but I find I am buying actual books now, but only books I want to have and keep on my shelves.
