Your diet is influencing your mood and it is scientifically proven

You are what you eat they say. Turns out that’s not all. You feel exactly the way you eat. Meaning either good or bad!
Nutritional and epidemiological psychiatrist at Deakin University in Australia, Felie Jacka, has spent the last decade researching links between the diet and mental health. The effect is a recently published paper that proves a cause-effect link between what persons with depression ate and how they felt.
Regardless of the fact if it was a moderate or severe depression — healthy food reduced the symptoms. It seems that
what we eat is crucial for our wellbeing. Literally.
The persons who participated in the study spent 12 weeks eating fresh vegetables and some fruits, beans, unsweetened yogurts, dairy, nuts, lean meat such as chicken and fish as well as olive oil. They were not allowed to consume alcohol other than 2 glasses of red wine a day. At the end their results were significantly better than the results of persons who continued to eat processed, low finer foods.
These findings are the most significant for those among us suffering from depression. Which does not change the fact that everybody else should not dismiss them as irrelevant. Mediterranean diet is every dietitian’s dream who agree on one thing: recommending to their clients eating more foods rich in “good” fats such as fish, avocado and nuts, and less of those highly processed such as white rice, white bread and sweets.
All of the above is confirmed by Julia Rucklidge, phd, in her TEDxChristchurg speech in 2014. She studied the influence of micronutrients, being really small quantity nutrients necessary for all sorts of physiological functions of the body. These are trace elements, usually less than 100 milligrams a day: iron, cobalt, chrome, copper, iodine, manganese, selenium, zinc, molybdenum as well as some vitamins. She mentioned the role of diet and dietary supplements in the course of mental dysfunctions, such as ADHD, bipolar affective disorder, anxiety disorders, stress and PTSD. If administered correctly, they can significantly reduce the symptoms, even curing the disorders completely.
This story is for all of us, guys. We live in times when it is getting more and more difficult to find food that is valuable and rich in all necessary nutrients. Especially when we live the way we live — travelling a lot, working like crazy, being constantly active and on the move.

I myself have spent more and more time figuring out how much what I eat and how I supplement affect my wellbeing, my moods and my energy levels. Since I have started drinking aloe vera gel every day which cannot be underrated in such cases (it helps absorb trace elements and vitamins, soothes the stomach and gut, seals up both stomach and gut, causes better digestion as well as helps the body detoxify), the quality of my life has improved significantly. And I have never suffered from depression, rather usual mood swings caused by fatigue, stress, malnutrition and toxins… So yes, drinking aloe and supplementing minerals and vitamins has made my life much easier, better and.. nicer! Cleansing and detoxifying my body also helped a lot.. but that’s a completely different story!
