[My most treasured memory is] coming to America and meeting my father again. My father moved to America when I was 2 years old in search of a better life. Five years my mom and I moved to Chicago. In my early years of schooling it had been difficult because I knew no English at the time. I had to learn by association which was a new experience for me considering I was seven years old. Time was filled with friends and many carefree experiences. I wish it could always be that simple; no worries, no obligations, the power to do whatever I want. Naturally the United States was fundamentally different in Romania. Going to school in the United States, was much different than school in Romania. The food has much lower quality here in American because of the laws putout for schools whereas Romania there were chefs in the kitchen preparing us kids a nutritious lunch. The 16 hour plane ride to America has made me realize that the world is much bigger than it seems. Coming to America changed me in a way I cannot explain; it gave me a new sense of perspective.
