All You Ever Wanted to Know About Annah Horst

What’s your name, major and hometown?

I’m Annah Horst, an Advertising Major and Graphic Design Minor from Hartford, WI!

What would be the most useful thing for me to know about you as a student?

I’m a visual learner and I enjoy interactive learning opportunities.

What do you wish was different about school?

The PRICE$$$$$ and healthier food options.

Describe a moment in school last year when you felt really engaged. Why do you think that moment was such a positive one for you?

Last year I had the opportunity to intern at the Marquette Kohler Center for Entrepreneurship. I am continuing it this year as well. Last year I got to promote a business competition called Impact Next. Working on the designs and seeing the final outcome made me realize how my skills and talents are valuable and will help me in my future profession.

What do you think teachers think about you, and what do you wish they’d think about you?

I think teachers think that I am a hard worker who tries their best. I wish that they would think the same about me!

Tell me about a teacher who you feel knew you well. What kind of student were you in his or her class? What did he or she do to get to know you?

In high school, I worked to manage my school store and I had a great relationship with the teacher in charge of the store. I had the teacher previously in other classes and we had a good relationship then, but when we were in charge of the store it felt like we were coworkers. I felt less of a professional barrier and we could talk to each other like friends.

If you could build a school, what would it look like?

A giant treehouse amidst waterfalls!

What do you wish I would ask you so that I can be a good teacher for you?

Ask us what we feel we don’t understand about entering the industry since we only have four years and then we are dropped into the real world which is scary.

What makes a weekend day great for you?

Going to yoga in the morning, having brunch (I love breakfast food), going to cute little shops, spending time outside, and hanging with friends!

Anything else to add?

I love art, cacti, cats, llamas, breakfast food, cheesecake, music, friends, and Milwaukee.

Finally, include a photo of yourself in your Medium post so I can start putting faces to names.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
