Black History Month Learning about the African American history in the United States should not be limited to a month! It should be taught in schools year-round. It should have its own separate course and text books. It should be taught by those who are passionate about the cause and about educating the young generation. It should be the true history and not the made up one. The courses should teach from the beginnings of the dark marks of brutalities of slavery in America to Civil War, Civil Rights Movement, Jim Crow Laws, the Discriminatory Criminal Justice Laws, and the System of Institutionalized Racism, as a whole. It should also teach about all the African American heroes, inventors, scholars, teachers, leaders, scientists and more. And most of all, the history should teach about the amazing contributions the African American community has made to our society, which is built by their very bare-hands, and their “blood, toil, tears and sweat.” #BlackHistoryMonth
