Poetic reflections on nature and beauty

She is the beauty in the dark underbelly of the silver tipped cloud,
In the depths of the groove of oak bark gilded with moss,
And the divet of the ripple on the lake.

She is the beauty in the perfectly juxtaposed glimmer of sunset on the railway track,
The inward breath of suspense before the first snowflake falls
And the dewdrop bejewelling the petal.

She is the beauty of noctilucent twilight, missed by eyes turned towards the ground,
Inherent in the perfection of dawns spider’s web,
And the velvet pause between lightning strikes.

As they say, that beauty is only skin deep
But I know their error as she weaves satin-taupe clouds across the sky,
Softly she calls, summoning the night,
And with her magic thread, she makes the stars align.

For she is the beauty in all things,
She is the beauty within you, and I.
