Writer and Producer Anna Kavanaugh Hints New Docuseries on Indigenous Peoples is in Development
Writer, producer, and journalist, Anna Kavanaugh, shared her high praise for the inclusive collaborative formation of a special Tribal Council who will contribute their ancestral wisdom, cultural experiences, and guidance in areas of environmental and wildlife protection.
Ms. Kavanaugh, who is dedicated to calling for bold progressive action in environmentalism, conservation, and sustainability, and also a human and racial rights and equality advocate, has been recently entrenched in work with her charitable foundation related to Indigenous disparity issues. She offered her celebration on social media earlier, saying,
“I applaud and wish to thank The National Wildlife Federation for the formation of this inclusive Tribal Advisory Council. It is wise and it is right. Indigenous wisdom is invaluable and has been proven to honor the Earth in survival and sustainability for centuries. It is paramount that we listen, learn, and return management authority over the sacred lands stolen from them. They hold ancient and unique understanding of how to restore and preserve our planet.
It is critical they are included as trusted and respected resources in the climate conversation. Collaboration and respect for their profound history, sovereignty, and voice is the path forward in healing the history of gross injustices and human rights violations invaded upon them, and the disaparity many continue to encounter today. I hope this example inspires further progress around the world with the silenced now embraced and understood for their enormous value and rightful place in leadership in the environmental crisis we face. Ms. Kavanaugh also hinted that a new docuseries highlighting Indigenous challenges, their extraordinary resilience, what they can teach us, and why it is more important than ever to embrace and trust their inclusivity, is in preliminary development. The series will be produced by Anna Kavanaugh with Living Eden Media, and her charitable foundation.
