Today has been a really good start to the new year! Lexie and I ended up going to Cineworld to see Pitch Perfect 3 and it was aca-awesome! I got super emotional towards the end, when they were talking about being a family and always supporting each other… It was beautiful, really lovely :) What wasn’t so lovely about it all was the blatant queer-baiting with Becca and Chloe (Lexie summed up the whole relationship aspect of the film really well: “Why are heteros so extra?!”) but aside from that it was a good movie and a solid end to the series.

We didn’t know what to do with ourselves then, so we wandered up to Asda and ended up buying Disney pencil topper blind bags- I got Simba (and also bought some new pens). The shopping centre wasn’t open so we didn’t really know what else to do. From there though we walked back down to the International Centre and visited the site of last year’s greatest trauma (AKA TFZ…). It was funny- we took stupid selfies and Lexie showed me what she could from outside in the style of a tour guide, so it was definitely an entertaining half hour or so. It was bloody cold though, and I managed to blow my nose straight through two tissues while we waited for a taxi, so that was sexy…

We just had time to relax for a bit and have a cup of tea before we went out for dinner; we ended up going to Tit (TGI) Fridays. The food was SO good, holy shit. The best thing was the milkshake that both Lexie and I had though, it literally came with a bit of birthday cake on a stick and was AMAZING. It was like a dessert in its own right. So good 😍 Plus the waitress that we had, Megan, was absolutely lovely. She was so sweet and kind and chatty, and was telling us all about the badges that she has. She was really pretty too; she reminded me a bit of Holly Bluett, especially around the eyes. I do feel kind of bad that they bought me food from there though because it was pretty expensive but they wouldn’t let me pay so…

I got dropped straight to the train station after that, and they waited with me until the train pulled in (even though I told them to go because it was freezing cold!). Had a bit of a hiccup at Shrewsbury because a. I couldn’t find how to get to the platform, and b. my train was delayed, but it was only 10 minutes later than it should have been so wasn’t too serious in the grand scheme of things!
