Captain’s Log Scotland !

It’s me, Anna in Scotland. Last night I started watching season six of Buffy the Vampire Slayer after years of hesitation. For me the series has always ended when Buffy swan dives off the tower at the end of the season five finale, but somehow now I’m ready to accept Buffy’s resurrection and journey with her and the gang through a second attempt at lived reality. This is a metaphor for me being in Scotland and finding myself in my fourth or fifth lived reality of the past year.

I have a nest, a budding academic project, a dog who I am not really responsible for and a traveling companion who I am in love with. Last night I was asked what I would do if I won the lottery tomorrow (which I guess would be today) and I realized that I would do pretty much exactly this — read, travel, stroll ocean-side. Also I would bring my family and friends to Anstruther and make you stroll ocean-side and look at things with me.

So I’m entering the beginning of the end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the beginning of the middle of this degree and the beginning of the beginning of me working in a 400-year old pub. More on that later, don’t want to jinx it! Here are some of the things I’ve been seeing lots of.
