Gentle soul held in a hulking — Standup comedy

There’s no-one that can compare with Matt McClowry. An awkward, gentle soul held in a hulking physique, Matt is surprising audiences for pretty much ten years, placing a sharp edge to universal topics like family, relationships, and modern life. Born and raised beyond Detroit, Michigan, Matt McClowry began his pursuit of a stand career in 2004 by getting started with the local open-mike night, and his awesome Comedy has gotten off from there. Over the past a decade, he has established both his confidence and writing skills and then he now enjoys a reputation as one of the strongest acts inside the Midwest.

Part of what gives Matt’s standup comedy a totally unique edge would be the fact he is an increased-functioning individual with Aspergers Syndrome. Matt does not fit the stereotypical picture of someone with Aspergers and fans often question him on that point. He finds himself to be considerably more comfortable on stage than off stage. One common manifestation of Aspergers Syndrome is not recognizing humor, and despite as being a professional Comedian McClowry is not really immune to struggling with that. They have found approaches to push past this obstacle and uses Aspergers to influence his career within a positive way.

There were many highlights in Matt’s career thus far. They have performed on the Boston Comedy Festival, Gilda’s LaughFest, The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, and The Bridgetown Comedy Festival. He was actually a winner in the World Group of Comedy, they have performed in the Oddball Comedy Festival, opened for Whitney Cummings and Marc Maron, and has appeared with Bill Burr at Flappers Comedy Club in Los Angeles. He has been seen on Comcast Television and been heard on Sirius XM Radio. Dry and dark like good Merlot, Matt’s comedy is refreshingly honest and brutally funny.
