I was raped.
Anna Redhawk

I just want to thank all of you for your kind words. For those of you who are asking, no neither my mother nor my step mother ever apoligized. My mother passed when I was 10 and my step mother never felt the need and she is gone now too. She even went so far as to convince my psycologist that I was making the whole thing up to get attention. This was in the early 1970's.

In 1979 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. It was the last time I took abuse like that, rape, beatings by my husband. I had left him a couple of months earlier. I also became a member of the Battered Women’s Taskforce. They had me doing a good deal of public speaking.

You see, I had decided that it didn’t matter what I did or did not deserve no child deserved what I could see coming. To this day I have not let a man touch me in that way and walk away unmarked. I became that defender of myself and my child.
