Parking opportunities in and around Maastricht

Hey, there! For those of you with a car, Maastricht University and the municipality of Maastricht have arrangements concerning the parking possibilities for students.

  1. The car park near Peter Debyeplein in Randwyck offers free parking 24 hours, 7 days a week, for all students with a UMcard.

2. International students who do not live in Maastricht and regularly commute from Germany or Belgium can get a special student parking permit for €75 a year (€5/month + €15 administrative costs). The permit is valid Monday through Friday (not during weekends) in areas relatively close to the UM buildings in the city centre. To apply for a special student parking permit please go to the website of the Municipality of Maastricht.

3. If you have a car registered in your name (not in the name of one of your parents) and you live in an area of Maastricht with paid parking, you can request a regular parking permit from the Municipality of Maastricht.

4. Another good option is the car park (P&R) that recently opened at Maastricht Noord railway station, near the A79 (Aachen — Maastricht) motor way exit. Parking is free of charge 24/7 and a shuttle bus departs for the city centre every 15 minutes (cost: €1). For information, see the attached brochure and the website of ‘Maastricht bereikbaar’.

If you have any further questions about parking, please send an email to studentparking@maastrichtuniversity.nl.

Drive safe :)

Cheers, Anna-Sophie
