Terry,
For a while I suffered with back pain. And a psychologist who knew my Bible teacher asked me one day, “Why don’t you get your father off your back?” I was enraged with his question and let him know. But it didn’t take long for that same question to surface again in my own voice. After all, the doctors could not find any visible reason for my back pain. And so, I ended up talking with this one who initially infuriated me. And I got to the point of seeing he was right. The pain felt like an huge weight pushing down on me. I worked through the issue, my pain eased up.
God faithfully reminds me when I start to flex my pride muscles. He is faithful. And he told me that pride does not look good on me.
