Cork City, County Cork, Ireland

Me and my travel buddies took a weekend trip to the southern coast of Ireland to Cork on my second weekend in Ireland.

I got a text message on Friday morning asking if I wanted to go on a trip to Cork and of course I couldn’t turn down a chance to explore more of Ireland, so bright and early Saturday morning I walked to the bus station for another adventure. We got to Cork around 12:30 on Saturday.

After stopping at the famous English market for a bomb sausage and pepper sandwich, we decided to take a bus to Blarney to see the Blarney stone.

Me, kissing the Blarney stone at the top of Blarney castle! Contrary to popular belief, locals cannot actually pee on the stone because it is at the top of a tall castle and this man next to me is up there all the times that it is open to the public.

It was a short trip, but we had a lot of fun at the Blarney castle, in the city centre of Cork, and in a local pub where we got dinner and breakfast the next day. Hopefully, we will be going to Belfast and Dublin in the next few weeks and I can’t wait to post about those as well.
