100 Great Books To Read In A Lifetime

I love this list. Many of these books are on my personal to-read list. However, as a veracious reader, I would love to challenge you to look at the authors you are reading, and expand the perspectives you are gaining. While this list is vast, many of your fiction books are written by white, male authors. I am in no way trying to discredit these books or the impact they can have. The ones that I have read are amazing. But there are also some amazing female writers out there. Some amazing writers who are people of color and women of color. I would just love to see these represented in books that people should be reading in their lifetimes. Some of my favorite fiction books by women include Beloved by Toni Morrison and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. For nonfiction books, I would HIGHLY recommend reading some bell hooks, some Maya Angelou, Amy Poehler’s Yes Please, and Cheryl Strayed’s Wild. And while I haven’t read all of the books on this list, this also includes a good starting place for expanding the kinds of experiences authors can contribute to their works. I hope you enjoy! Happy reading!
