Treasure of Florence — The Uffizi Gallery
The Uffizi Gallery, one of the most important Italian museums, is also one of the largest and best known in the world. It holds a collection of priceless works, particularly from the period of the European Renaissance.
The Uffizi Gallery is the treasure of Florence for people who are in love with art. It collects more than 2,500 pieces of arts, including masterwork from Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raffaello Sanzio,Sandro Botticelli, Tiziano Vecellio and Rembrandt.
Raffaello’s paintings are famous for elegant character and harmonious environment. And these two paints exactly represent his painting style. Madonna is in the middle of the artwork and looks gentle and holy and God the son looks cute. The whole picture is full of the glory of motherly love.
Flora is one of the most popular artwork of Tiziano. It portrays an idealized beautiful woman, which is the symbol of flower and summer. Her left hands holds a pink-shaded mantle, while another holds a handful of flowers and leaves.
This Tondo Doni shows that Michelangelo is not only good at sculptures, but also paintings. LOL.
Besides these paintings from masters, I also fall in love with the decoration of the gallery. The ceiling is filled with delicate mural and none of them was repetitive. Along the road, there are two lines of fabulous sculptures. It takes you to half day to visit this gallery. And to fully understand all these awesome art work, you need at least one week.
All the masterpieces are worth viewing on your own. Only when standing before it can you deeply respond to the great artists. Hope you can take a visit to the Uffizi Gallery by yourself one day.
