5. **Return Meat and Simmer:** The seared meat is returned to the pan, and additional seasonings, such as herbs (thyme, parsley, etc.) and spices, are added. The dish is then simmered over low to medium heat until the meat is cooked through and tender.

6. **Finish the Sauce:** Depending on the recipe, cream, egg yolks, or other ingredients might be added to thicken and enrich the sauce. The sauce is typically brought to a gentle simmer to achieve the desired consistency.

7. **Serve:** The fricassee is served hot, often over rice, noodles, or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
