Lots of powerful reflections here, Aneesh. Much of what you say could be said of the majority of countries in the world today. In reading the history of the U.S., I realize that it started in massive complexity and has always experienced some level of chaos as the forces between greed and goodness battle it out over the lives of its citizens. Such is human nature. But the best of humanity still thrives in the hearts of the faithful. I can see where you certainly don’t admire, respect, or honor the worst in your political and cultural woes. But, I hope you love your people. As this planet grows smaller and we interconnect on a daily basis, we have the age-old choice. To believe in the best of us and to work for even the smallest improvements or to give in to despair. Love may be the only hope we have.
