The Great Gatsby comprehension

To begin with, I’d like to say that this book is very special for me, and I have an explanation. I attended my Good Hope (the language club) English classes since I was four and there was a text a year ago, which started with the following: "In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I’ve been turning over in my mind ever since". Sounds familiar, right? I found out the name of the book and just kept it in my mind. Then, a couple of months ago I’ve learned that we are having our pleasure reading sessions and I have an opportunity to read this book. Why is it so precious to me? That club, Good Hope, brought me up. I started my journey around the ocean of English right there and I’m very grateful to that place. I think I’ll tell you more about it later. So, despite the fact that we are far from each other, I still can feel the connection thanks to this book.
As for my impression, it has two sides. On the one hand, it’s reeeeeally difficult to understand (yeah, I know, Ms. Kate has warned us), but on the other hand, the plot is thrilling. I’m looking forward to meeting Gatsby for the first time (we haven’t met him yet, only a few mentions). I expected this book to be deep and interesting and I still haven’t changed my mind.

Also I’d like to share one quote from what I’ve read already: "Don’t believe everything you hear" (c) Tom
It’s actually quite a deep thought. It means that you shouldn’t trust every word people say. First check, then believe, because there are so many liars nowadays.
Aaand I can’t help mentioning the moment with Daisy and Nick talking. Daisy said that when she found out she gave birth to a girl, she turned to the wall and started crying. She wanted her daughter to be silly beautiful, because it’s impossible for woman to live in this world not pretending being silly. It’s truly sad, but also relevant for some families or relationships.

I think that’s all I wanted to say about my book yet. In general, it’s cool and I hope I won’t be disappointed.
Good night!)
