Yes, Yes, Yes! Profit as the sole measure of productivity and progress is short-sighted — sadly not unlike a lot of ventures in Africa. Institutions -legal, security, education etc; sustain nations not big labels. I think we often see GE, Boeing, Facebook, Google etc and imagine that if we had big companies we’d also catch up forgetting the major pillars of governance and government that underpin all the success stories. When your ratified contract can be abrogated by some “Ogboro” for reasons ‘outside the law’ no amount of entrepreneurial vibrancy can alleviate your sufferings. Thank you; this was insightful.
