Day 15: Name three strengths you have as an educator.

  1. Positivity. It’s hard to get me down, at least in front of the kids. Last year, I put on too much of the positivity facade, doing my best to disprove the “No smiling before Christmas” adage. This year, I am taking a more balanced approach with energetic instruction, calm, kind discipline and praise, and a smile on the way in and out of my room.
  2. Feedback. See Day 14. I love giving students feedback on their writing, especially, almost to a fault. I am refining my feedback practices to make them more efficient and meaningful.
  3. Flexibility. I do my best to release the reigns to other teachers in my room and my students as much as I can. I also work decently with most personality types. I am willing to try new practices.
