The “More-ness” of Privilege
Joel Leon.

I’m just going to leave this here:

My children are bi-racial, and, as white man, I do not fit your description. Entitlement is a disease all of our children (and many adults) share in the US, and if you think ‘most’ oppressors are white these days, you should take a trip to the Middle East and then through Asia, and, if you’re paying attention, you’ll discover you’re mistaken. To pretend it is limited to white men and women simply adds to the divide you think you are making us aware of.

The more-ness is expected, demanded, and taken by those in power with wealth, and just like Andrew Bynum — a professional athlete who took more to a whole new level with his BMW — it is they who think more is the creed by which we should live. The divide is not racial, if people like you and the ones you’re writing about would realize, it is economic — that is where the oppression is. Racism is a tool used by the wealthy to distract and divide.

And your long, turgid piece above lumping me in with them only served to alienate me, and see you for what you are: another racist who thinks he can generalize just like the people you are railing against.
