I posted a very long comment, it was removed and I was blocked by the author. My post was very confrontational, critical, and harsh. One would be right in saying I don’t need to express my thoughts like that in order to make the important points.
However, you not responding but merely blocking me, does not look good on you, Mr. Kim. It looks like you don’t want to engage in robust debate. Especially if you remove this post, it shows me and others who see this before it gets deleted, that Medium is not a place for free speech and open argument. It will not look good for you.
I will make my case again: There is no pay gap between the sexes, only an earnings gap. Women can and do earn just as much as men do for the same work and the same hours. But they make different choices on average, they work less hours than men and they go into fields that make less money. That’s their choice, and Korean women hold to traditional values more, that’s why Korea supposedly has the biggest gender pay gap at 36.6%. I believe this pay gap is a significant misunderstanding, and it is not helping men or women.
