Found the spark!
Incidentally, it was not under the bed. It had not rolled off while I was sleeping. It was and is within me. Just got buried by physical and emotional bits and ends. But I unearthed it. It actually came back with my slow return to health from a viral infection that made me feel useless and filled with self pity.

I have read many stories of how people’s lives were transformed when they started to love themselves, when they began training their bodies to be fit and started eating healthy. I think this is what is lacking in my life. I always push fitness to the back burner thinking that “I will not have enough time to work if I spend two hours everyday at the gym.” But that’s a misguided lie I keep telling myself to make myself feel better. Which I actually do not.
So many changes happen within you when you start moving your body. The skin starts glowing. Your body gets pumped up with the blood coursing through your veins. You feel invigorated and energetic.
DOSE. Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, Endorphins. The Happy Team or the feel good neurochemicals of your body;
Dopamine is released with reward driven behaviour. Set yourself a goal and achieve it, and you have a Dopamine high. Human bonding, trust and loyalty releases the hormone Oxytocin, creating a happy feeling. Endorphins are terms as ‘self-produced Morphine’. Endorphins are produced in sexual intercourse, strenuous physical exertion like a full blown work-out and orgasm. Increase these components in your life and you will have increased levels of Endorphins. Serotonin is termed as the confidence molecule. To experience the benefits of Serotonin, challenge yourself constantly so that it reinforces a sense of meaning, achievement and purpose. Serotonin creates self esteem.
When you work out, all of the above neurochemicals play a major part. Dopamine when you achieve a goal weight. Oxytocin when you bond with people. Endorphins while you actually work out, and Serotonin when you see your improved body and the confidence it exudes.
So, I’m going to hit the gym. Beginning of a month. Beginning of a new lifestyle. Let’s do this!!!!
