People now live in a global village. I think global village mean the entire world are more closely connection due to the development of Internet technologies. People are like live as neighbor in the globe. Due to the development of Internet technologies and the use of Internet, it promotes developing the global village. For example, people can share information without face-to-face meeting. People can share information in the Internet, such as social media, like Twitter, Facebook. Therefore, global village is convenient to us.
Today, after more than a century of electric technology, we have extended our central nervous system itself in a global embrace, abolishing both space and time as far as our planet is concerned.

Marshall McLuhan, a media and communication theorist, was the first person to publish the term of global village. He also comment the technologies is important to global village. Social media is an important role in global village. Because the social media is a big platform, a lot of people use social media that offer people are link to each other more easily.
Global village will raise conflict between cultures, cause a fragmentation of culture, or lead to cultural domination by more developed countries and possibly create hybrid culture. Additionally, global village might lead to the social problems.
In my opinion, global village has positive effect to use more than negative effect. And people cannot control the development of global village same as cannot control the development of technologies. Also, global village can improve the development of the economy.
