You don’t get the point. In Europe we refuse the concept of death penalty. You seem to support it. But even the worst of all murderers has a human right of living. The German constitution begins with the wonderful sentence: “Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar.” — “The dignity of the human being (as such) is untouchable.” John McCain is a human being. He cannot be reduced to is political view or his dees or misdeeds. He is an unrepeatable creature. For people close to him he is a beloved one. If you start to reduce a person to its political partisanship, to its failures, to its crimes — you start beeing a hateful fanatic. I don’t accept what John McCain has done to innocent people. But at the same time I can pray for him, his family and his friends. Aloha and Shalom, dear Caitlin
