Movie Guide to the Marvel World!

Hello Newbie!

First of all I would like to welcome you to the world of Marvel. This is a fantasy land where anything is possible. You will meet Norse Gods, billionaires turned superheroes, flying hawks not the birds — the human type, 93 year old men who definitely do not look a day over 27. That’s the beauty of this world, it is full of surprises so you need to keep an open mind. You will be in love with it before you know it!

Now let’s get started, so each Marvel movie is connected to the other and all characters come together in avengers so you need to watch them all to know the background stories.

One order of watching is where you watch each movie as it released, however some stories may start in the past and then merge with the current timeline.

Second order is to watch each movie as per the Marvel timeline.

I personally prefer option one but it’s totally upto you. I will give detail about each movie in the order of release and in the end of this article I have listed movie watching order as per both the options.

Marvel Cinematic Universe in the Order of Movie Release date

Iron Man

This is the first in the list and my favourite movie of all times. This is a story of Tony Stark, genius billionaire industrialist playboy turns hero. If that doesn’t interest you, just take a look at Robert Downey Jr.’s jaws in the picture above!

Iron Man 2

Tony is under pressure to share his technology with the world. This should be named Jaws 2! Haha, kidding!

Thor

And enters a Norse God, Thor ! Spoilt brat on a path of self discovery and redemption.

The hammer’s called Mjonir. (Is it just me or does that name sound super sexy!!!)

Oh and he is the God of thunder.

Captain America

Steve Rogers is like those first benchers who see the world as black and white. Volunteers to become a super soldier for an experiment using the super soldier serum to aid US government’s effort in WWII. There is absolutely nothing you can hate about this guy.

Avengers

All the heroes come together for the avengers initiative to save the world.

Iron Man 3

Mandarin vs Tony Stark or as some may say Jaws 3!!! Robert Downey Jr. is absolutely gorgeous.

Thor : The Dark World

Thor sets out on a journey to defeat Malekith, the leader of Dark Elves when he returns to Asgard to fulfil his desire of destroying the nine realms.

Captain America : The Winter Soldier

Steve Rogers teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington D.C.

Guardians of the galaxy

This is the story of intergalactic thief Peter Quill who forms a squad to defeat cosmic threats. You get to see the famous Groot!!

Avengers : Age of Ultron

Tony Stark builds an AI system named Ultron, and when things go south it’s upto the Avengers to stop the villain from enacting his evil plan.

Ant-Man

After spiders, next on the list are ants. Super fun movie, however this can be skipped since ant man has very less role in avengers or other marvel movies. I would still recommend this as this is a great movie.

Captain America : Civil War

There is a rift between our superheroes when the government decides to push a Hero registration act. Another one of my favourites in the list. Oh and you get to see Ant-man and Spiderman as well.

Doctor Strange

This movie explores the magical elements protecting the world. Dr.Strange must face a difficult choice of whether to return to his life of luxuries or protect the world against a powerful sorcerer.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2

Peter Quill finally meets his shitty father who in reality is a celestial being. In this movie we see that the guy actually is a Star Lord. So boohoo to all who were laughing in Vol 1 when he called himself by that name.

Thor Ragnarok

Ragnarok is a prophecy that when the crown of Surtur unites with the Eternal Flame then entire Asgard will be destroyed. What will Thor do to prevent this prophecy from coming true?

This is one of the best rated movies in the Thor trilogy and Mjonir( the hammer remember) is going to be destroyed. What will Thor’s new weapon be?

Black Panther

T’Challa, heir to the kingdom of Wakanda, blessed by the Bass with powers of black panther must protect his kingdom from outside world.

Avengers : Infinity war

With the powerful Thanos on the verge of raining destruction upon the universe, the avengers will have to risk everything to stop him.

Ant-man and the wasp

Great movie, can skip it . Only thing one needs to know is that ant-man in the end gets stuck in the Quantum realm. This is not a spoiler just the end scene after the movie is over, this maybe relevant later.

Captain Marvel

I am just happy that the strongest superhero is a woman. You won me Marvel. This movie basically tells the story of how Carol Danvers is caught in an intergalactic war between two alien races.

Avengers: Endgame

After the devastating events of the Infinity war, the Avengers assemble once more to reverse Thanos’ actions and restore balance to the universe.
