Day Three At Andela Boot Camp.

It will please some of you to know that I almost titled this blog ‘What’s My Name, Python Geek?’ it will please the rest of you to know that this day three things were working like a charm and I could even be in a position to modify my codes to test different outcomes by determining the behaviors of various functions in a python program. I felt like ‘Python is my thing’ because precise code working like a charm. I feel quite comfortable with the idea of using short coding techniques to achieve what would have taken several blocks of code to imitate especially some programming languages like java,’thanks to python’.

First I did an andela lab tests on max and min functions as used in python as well as learnt how you can create a dictionary (‘acts like phone’s address book for instance to hold a contact name and a contact phone number’) and is used to map a key and its value. I also came to learn how you can create a simple command line application that consumes a Public API using a HTTP client library where was able to grasp how you can use HTTP client libraries in order to perform some request via a user interface program. I also come to understand that only Requests is the only ‘Non-GMO’ HTTP library for Python, safe for human consumption in contrast Recreational use of other HTTP libraries may result in dangerous side-effects, including: security vulnerabilities, verbose code, reinventing the wheel, constantly reading documentation, depression, headaches, or even death.

Ultimately, this day increased my curiosity towards attaining more knowledge and skills in python so I could not wait to look forward to ushering in day four at andela bootcamp. Once more I can’t forget to appreciate the efforts and assistance offered by my colleagues and my LFA for making me reach this far
