While the core of your article strikes a chord, I take umbridge at equating “Western Civilization” with what you are describing, which is the culture of the USA. I agree that the USA has essentially become dystopic, any society where the Gini index goes about 0.6 is essentially a failed state. But in truth the USA is only one small dysfunctional bullying member of the family of societies that are “Western Civilisation”, what ever that is. Germany, Northern Europe, even Central Europe….these are societies that are vibrant, healthy and respectful of intellectualism. Europe’s population is almost 3 times that of the US. I am really tired of Americans thinking that they are at the center of the universe.
