I tend to fall victim to thinking that I need to respond to all the emails, messages and notifications that bombard my inboxes on a daily basis. I’ve applied all the trendy methods of organizing and decluttering my email inbox in an effort to get to the magic state of “inbox zero.” Somehow it feels like I’m accomplishing something if I spend all morning clearing out my inbox.

But what would happen if instead of worrying about cleaning out the messages, I spent time initiating new conversations and establishing new connections? What if I spent time every day creating something worth responding to?
