The Promise of Qi is not far away

How Dr Roger Jahnke made Qi Gong Accessible to me!

I found Roger Jahnke back in 2010 when I was doing alot of research into Qi Gong. I was particularly interested in Qi Gong for medical purposes. I was extremely impressed with his open attitude to promoting and expanding the knowledge to all. He has tremendous internal strength and has dedicated all his life to leading by example.

Dr Jahnke has managed not only to spearhead the development of Qi Gong research but has also practised as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 40 years, specialising in healing modalities and traditions.

He is also a celebrated author, having successfully released the famous Healer Within (Harper Collins, 1999) used in self development programs worldwide and The Healing Promise of Qi (McGraw-Hill, 2002), considered a classic in the western literature on Qi Gong and Tai Chi.

Here is is a famous video of Dr Jahnke in action and definitely one of the moments of inspiration for me:

An inspiration and a leader

As the Director of the Institute of Integral Qi Gong and Tai Chi (IIQTC), he serves as a consultant to hospitals, social service agencies, and also advises corporations involved with Complementary and Integrative Medicine.

He has an amazing focus towards preventative medicine and self-healing through the Ancient Chinese solution, transitioning to the Contemporary Crisis in Healthcare, namely Qi Gong.

Here is a quote from the man himself:

“Chinese medicine is wellness based and its benefits are accomplished through functional enhancement. When a body heals any part, the whole participates. In the more whole person paradigm, the idea of treating a part or process pales next to the profound idea that, integrally, any part can only be transformed with the support of healing components, factors and processes that happen throughout the whole system.” Dr. Roger Jahnke, Founder and Director of the Institute of Integral Qi Gong and Tai Chi.

This ideology spurred my own career forward to create the Qi Life Academy, which exacts this through the idea of a ‘Healer in Every Household’.

Dr Jahnke himself is an impressive physical inspiration; he is fit and strong in an unconventional sense. The work he has done on himself shows and he is able to perform feats of strength that many his own age and younger could not.

The highlight of this blog for me is the fact that I want people to recognise that health and healing takes place when we take care of the human vehicle that carries injury or illness.

Dr Jahnke has been quoted as saying:

“Conventional medical science has been so busy creating new technologies for treating disease that we have forgotten about caring for health. In the West, we incorrectly believe that health care and medicine are the same thing.”

I have been involved in health and wellness practices for more that 25 years and I have travelled extensively looking for truths surrounding modern beliefs. I was surprised to find that alot of western practitioners are now taking the torch of Qi Gong and beginning to run with it. Infact, the modern diseases we are facing demand that we need to look beyond suppressing symptoms.

In a way, mother is the necessity of invention, and Dr Jahnke has led the way for decades. A man for all seasons, he has created a platform of inspiration in the West that we can all draw from.

Roger, a man for all seasons.

Dr Roger Jahnke to this day carries his mission as a devoted teacher and innovator, ensuring that people of all ages and walks of life can accept the responsibility for personal health care. His primary methodology for this is to bring together the ancient esoteric self-care methods onto a usable platform that can be shared in the community.

For me, Dr Jahnke embodies the ideology that Qi is accessible for all of us, and through this article I dedicate my thanks to him. He is a person I have never met, yet he embodies hard work and passion. His outstanding health engulfs his body, a testimony to the age defying benefits of Mind Body medicine.

Thank you Roger for everything.
