Oh baloney, Mr. Legum. America’s interference in other nations’ affairs has nothing to do with promoting democracy. We are not promoting democracy in Guatemala, Honduras, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Palestine, or any number of other nations. We are toppling governments that we consider inimical to our empire’s continued dominance. Remember Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia (or are you too young and unschooled about that era)? We promoted one heck of a lot of democracy there. How about Chile? Do you approve of our efforts there to “promote democracy”?
