On Wine. A tragedy.

You make a very good point, Ryan. Indeed, consumers shy away from standing by their tastes, in wine as in many other things, which is tragic. However, I feel it is unfair to lay the blame solely on wineries as there are many other actors in the industry’s value chain, bloggers and wine-writers included, who have sinned as much and sometimes more. Let me be blunt: wineries want the consumer to be satisfied / thrilled with their wine so that they come back and buy more. For that, they try hard to inform on the right way to achieve value from the wine be it simple pleasure, wider knowledge, social status or plain nutrition (wine in moderation, anyone?). Some people also do rent that car and go wrong-way driving in the highway just for kicks. They find it exciting but that’s not the right way to do it…
