Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is one of the richest men in the world. So you might be surprised to learn that he once drove a Honda.
Why would a billionaire drive such a modest car while having roughly $10 billion in Amazon stock in 1999?
In a interview bezos said:
It’s a symbol of spending money on things that matter to customers and not spending money on things that don’t
Of course, Bezos isn’t the only wealthy person who has chosen to drive a modest car. Warren Buffett, another billionaire investor, is also known for his frugality.
But Bezos ain’t frugality no more right? haha.
He is the owner of private jets, mega yachts, mega mansions, and who knows what else.
So could the reason be he drove that car be that he wanted to retain a public image to not care about materialistic stuff and focus on the company and providing value to the customers?
Or maybe he was just too busy with work that he didn’t have time.
