Preach! I couldn’t agree more. Somewhere in the past 3–5 years the word “UX” has been buzzing and unfortunately it has been intruding on what’s beautiful. Beautiful UI and amazing functionality CAN live/work together. Design shouldn’t be secondary to functionality. Without an amazing design you merely have something that works, but isn’t memorable.
Teams have this vision of reaching 100% usability/accessibility, but at some point we need to sacrifice perfect usability for a beautiful experience. What’s the perfect balance? Not sure. :)
