Travelling based on personality

Travelling is a fundamental part of my life, so much that someday I hope I’ll be able to redirect my marketing career towards the travel industry.

Having recently engaged in conversations about people’s preferred travel styles, especially in an era marked by hectic and isolated daily lives, a moment of introspection led me to realise that I have never embarked on a solo journey in my life.

I’m the kind of extrovert person who loves constantly cracking jokes and laughing with like-minded people, hence I’ve always felt the urge of travelling with somebody I knew I would enjoy sharing experiences with, whether it be a group of childhood friends, college mates, a girlfriend, or other couples.

As I contemplate the idea of embarking on a solo journey, I find a moment to reflect on my recent weekend getaways in the UK. During these trips, I explored the cities of Bath, Cardiff, and Bristol with my wife and friends.

Bath and its Christmas markets were an absolute pleasure to visit. The town is very well known for its Roman-built baths, Georgian architecture, and stunning spa facilities. I was happy to walk around after the spa and discover that the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, feeling and breathing their featuring vibrant cultural scene, and charming cobblestone streets.

Train cancellations, delays and lack of time didn’t allow me to explore Cardiff as much as I’d wanted, but the walk around their castle and the stay & dinner at The Elgano Guest House (which was established by Sicilians like me who I obviously befriended ), where worth the trouble of a discomfortable train trip from England to Wales.

The concluding moments in Bristol before my journey home were ideally devoted to seeking out Banksy’s “Well Hung Lover” piece of art and other interesting landmarks.

While I still think if deep down I can enjoy a solo trip, I’ll focus on gearing up for my upcoming Christmas adventures, surrounded by the company of those dear to me :)
