I also believe that Practice should be executed from the start. It will make implementing all of the other points easier. 
Once simple mistakes are made in the beginning, because of the inability to practice the new skill, the practitioner will already have experience which will make the research phase easier and he/she will know what to search for. :) At least that's my take. It's not linear process its iterative. :)
