Super Fantasy League Football Power Rankings: Pre-Season

These are going to be quick, down and dirty after spending 45 mins re-entering everyone’s team. Read on to see why you do or don’t suck.

(Stats below are a weighted average for how you ranked between the position groups of QB/RB/WR/TE and VVOA (Vince’s Value Over Average) is a number to show how you are in relation to the average team. Someone with -1 has the same talent gap as someone with 1 to the middle, just on the wrong side.)

The Bottom 3, where hope goes to die.

10. Team Zurek

Weighted Average of 7.8, VVOA of -1.3

Strengths: TE, Future Assets

Weakness: Just about everything else.

Shockingly didn’t go all-in on OBJ, most likely due to the fact that Zurek thought he just watched OBJ’s career end 6 minutes before the draft started.

9. O.J.’s Parole Board — Lowell

Weighted Average of 6.85, VVOA of -0.67

Strengths: Decent RB’s and WR’s

Weakness: Forgot we had to start a QB, let alone 2.

Lowell bucks the conventional trend and spends $6 of his $200 on QB’s in a 2 QB league.

8. Team Ward

Weighted Average of 6.8, VVOA of -0.64

Strengths: RB and TE

Weakness: QB’s aren’t much better than Lowell’s.

Considering this was Brandon’s 2nd ever draft and 1st ever auction, the two people below him should be ashamed.

The Muddled Middle, where a few moves can move you up or down.

7. Cones of Dunshire

Weighted Average of 6.1, VVOA of -0.18

Strengths: Has only one weakness.

Weakness: Only has one strength.

Nic has a shockingly consistent team, QB, RB and WR were all rated 6th best and his TE’s are 7th. The problem is that it’s consistently below-average.

6. Team Goodchild

Weighted Average of 5.85, VVOA of -0.02

Strengths: RB

Weakness: The rest of his team.

I was able to watch the look of horror on Justin G’s face as the draft went on and he kept thinking how he spent way too much on Jordan Howard.

5. Team Hogan

Weighted Average of 5.8, VVOA of 0.02

Strengths: Good TE’s, solid QB and WR’s

Weaknesses: Danny Woodhead as RB1. Help.

Bill was confused and scared going into this draft.

4. Team Egert

Weighted Average of 5.65, VVOA of 0.11

Strenghts: The best RB’s and a solid QB duo.

Weakness: Wound up in last place on WR and TE.

I’m kinda shocked Justin E made it this high on the list with two last place-rated position groups. But his RB’s and QB’s should be able to make up for it.

The Top 3, where those who have laugh at those less who have-not.

3. 1–800–522–4700, Brian’s Team

Weighted Average of 3.75, VVOA of 1.36

Strengths: Ranked top 4 in QB/WR/TE

Weakness: Lacking in impact RBs

Even without an internet connection, no laptop and a Canadian cellphone, Brian was still able to pull off a top-3 draft. He also finally downloaded the ESPN Fantasy app and has no idea how proud I am of him for it. Brian also wins round 1 of the Team Name Game.

2. Team Ley

Weighted Average of 3.45, VVOA of 1.56

Strengths: QB/WR

Weakness: RB

If Jon could have landed one more quality RB, he’d be in the next spot, but unfortunately for all of you…

1. Wilton Degenerates, Vince’s Team

Weighted Average of 2.95, VVOA of 1.89

Strengths: QB, WR, RB

Weakness: Ability to control ones own ego.

For the record, I had Justin E. do a similar ranking style and he put me at 2nd, so it’s not like I’m alone in thinking that I’m incredible.

So there you have it, folks. The first edition of the PR’s are in the bag. Next time, try to have better team names so this is more enjoyable.
