This hanging flower holder is made of newspaper and shiny, colorful paper. You can use this as a wall hanging with or without flowers (but please don’t put water in it). You can fill this up with fresh flowers or with paper or plastic flowers as well. I taught this craft in my art class for kids and me and my students had a lot fun while making this :)
Materials needed:
- For the base:
- Newspapers strips — Regular or Glossy
- Colored Origami paper strips
- Painting Brush or wooden stick
- Fevicol
- Scissors
- Ruler
- For decorating the wall hanging:
- Pistachio shells
- Fabric metallic pearl colors
- Painting brush
- Fevicol
- Ribbons
- Glitter paints
- Colorful-chumkis, thermocol balls, paper flowers etc.
Steps:
- Cut the newspaper pages or colorful paper into strips approx 30 cm long and 10 cm wide. After that with the help of a painting-brush or a thin wooden stick make paper straw or pipe. Remember to start rolling the paper from the thinnest part of a brush or a wooden stick by placing it diagonally on a paper. Make 14 such sticks or pipes.
2. Using Fevicol or any other strong glue, stick four paper pipes in the way it is shown below.
3. Now stick three paper pipes at equal distances in a straight line inside the frame.
4. Next, take two more paper pipes and placed them on the last three pipes in such a way that they appear over the first two pipes. Just like the way I have stuck green pipes in the picture below. After that place three more pipes and stick them vertically, just like I have stuck dark-blue, Blue and Black pipes in the picture below.
5. After that make a cone out of a white waste paper and tape and stick it on the frame the way I have in the picture below.
6. Paint the white cone using Fabric metallic pearl bronze color. Make a ribbon loop and stick it at back on the top for hanging.
Now you have made this wall hanging with a newspaper and painted it with Fabric metallic pearl golden color, You can also decorate it further with colorful chumkis, paper flowers and glitter paints in whichever way you want :)!
