UNESCO DG VISITS NIGERIA

#‎UNESCO‬ DG visits Nigeria.
The Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Ms Irina Bokova arrived in Abuja yesterday to begin a 2-day official visit to Nigeria to discuss and strengthen UNESCO’s programmes in the country, notably in the fields of education, the sciences, culture and communication and information, and in preventing violent extremism. On hand to welcome her were the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan; the Permanent Delegate of Nigeria to UNESCO, Amb Mrs. Mariam Y. Katagum; the Regional Director of UNESCO Regional Office, Abuja, Mr Benoit Sousou and the Secretary General of National Commission for UNESCO, Mrs Magdalene Anene-Maidoh.
