Subtle harassment

“You are cute. Do you know that?”

I looked up, astonished and shook my head in disagreement. For the next few minutes, which seemed like hours, I made sure to discuss only professional future prospects.

Till now, I fail to understand how a conversation, intended to congratulate me on my outstanding performance in the selection process, steered towards my looks.

“All the best! I’ll see you around.”

Yeah, I don’t fucking think so!!!!!

For a minute, I am also sure that I was offered to be given a “less burdensome” work (as I have already joined the service and made it a point to not resign, well, because it is not my fucking fault). My gratitude for the praise suddenly turned into plain wrath at the obnoxious behaviour.

This is perhaps the second time I have faced an advancement of the sort in the garb of a favour or commendation.

I refuse it outright and if need be, will raise my voice against it and also brace myself, of course because everything about me like my drinking, smoking, travelling, sex-life, sexual preferences, the choice to remain bachelorette, refusal to choose motherhood and what not, will be discussed and used against me.

P.S.:- Those who think that patriarchy and gender-inequality are phenomena of past can politely shove this incident up their bigoted asses.

Oh and yes Not all men….
