I can see the trolls are out in force trumpeting thier lies.
- If one cannot pay for health care one does not have it. Paying for and recieving are irrevocably tied. Someone has to pay.
- Charities and emergency rooms are at best feeble and inadequete substitutes for health insurance. An example to this case in point emergency rooms do not cover long term physical therapy, charities funding and servicess are to erratic and limited to cover the short fall.
- The very nature of insurance is to spread the risk. The arguement against funding health care for others is an arguement against insurance of any sort.
- To purposely promote the reality of a segment of the population being disabled for lack of proper care such as necessary physical therapy or sick for lack of proper medicine is to promote unhealthy population for all. Remember the daughter of the King of England dying of the Black death even when they had “isolated” themselves from the general populace, or FDR and polio. Germs, viruses and other maladies do not respect class and wealth distinctions.
- Alas the poor will always be with us if only as a measure. One cannot claim wealth except as a measure against those who do not have as much material assets. No poor, no wealthy.
- Universal health care is a right. But like freedom from slavery or universal sufferage it must be fought for and claimed from those who profit, either materially or because of sick pleasure of seeing themslves as superior, by humanity.
