Aoi by Hanako is an NFT collection. The Japanese creator Hanako has chosen a canvas of 49x49 pixels, where collection consists entirely of pixelated flowers topped with pixelated butterflies.
Hanako wants to spread awareness around maternal and childbirth mortality. 830 women die every year in childbirth worldwide with the question of whether the child survives. Nearly 1300 children annually do not survive childbirth worldwide. These are tragic figures that need more attention.
Hanoko’s sister Naomi died in childbirth 10 years ago where unfortunately the baby Aoi did not survive either.
Each butterfly represents a lost child, and each flower represents a lost mother. It is a unique collection where each flower and butterfly combination is unique with a unique name. The collection will be fully animated.
The butterfly is known as the symbol of transformation. The butterfly is often seen as a messenger, giving a sign of our dearly departed. As a result, the deceased will live on in the present.
Hanako has been creating pixel art for several years to show his love for art. This project is his first project to see if it pleases, Hanako believes that deeds done today can have consequence in the future and therefore does not rule out multiple collections.
