Camped at the end of Cispus Basin with a nice view of Mt St Helens

Backpacking the Goat Rocks Wilderness

This last weekend, I went on my first backpack trip of the summer. And after this experience, it won’t be the last. The Goat Rocks Wilderness surpassed all of my expectations, and they were already pretty high.

I made a mistake with my hiking boots and I’m still experiencing some pain on my feet, but it was completely worth it.

It’s somewhere in between 7 and 8 miles to Cispus Pass, the campground where we spent the night is 0.5 miles before that. The elevation gain is around 1,800 feet, maybe closer to 2k, so not too bad.

I’ll leave you with the photos.
