The difference is, that fire extinguishers don’t cause serious problems if they’re used incorrectly. (Or if they’re stolen by criminals.)

This is something you have to consider before deciding that a piece of “emergency equipment” is automatically a good thing.

Even if the risk of an accident is low, if the chance of it being needed is even lower, owning it is a bad idea.

Our country is safer than TV would have us believe. Most of the USA long ago crossed that break-even point.
