Fog

The TV runs with news of dowry deaths and revolutions.

The newspaper lies in a corner crumpled by the many hands that turned it.

While I sit with pen and paper waiting for something to go wrong, so I can be the first one to tell the world about it.

If I am lucky there might be a murder or two, if not I was hoping for atleast a theft in a celebrity’s house.

The accident at the street corner is not important, it didn't kill anyone.

The kidnap need not be covered , the child came back home.

War is justified, the Superpower won.

Carnage not wrong, politician re-elected.

Orphaned children, burnt oil tanks, cracked homes and upturned chairs-this is what life is made up of.

Going around in circles for a world that thinks YOU can make a difference.
