I work at a nonprofit who just switched directors. It seems all of our events, office parties, etc. NEED alcohol in order to be a success because there’s nothing better than having the greatest water cooler stories over who got smashed the night before.

I don’t drink often, and usually pass the opportunity at work with professional colleagues. And it’s true, I do feel left out when everyone is hanging out after work drinking. But for me, that’s not the kind of relationship I want to have with co-workers.
